Hojsova Straz is a mountain recreation centre (altitude 890 m) in west part of Sumava, 12 km away from Zelezna Ruda in highland of Zeleznorudsko.

On Hojsova Straz, there are ski slopes with ski lifts: at the boarding house there is an illuminated ski slope 400 m long; 1 km away in area Zamecek – ski slope 350 m; 1 km away area Dlouha louka - ski slope 400 m. Available are cross-country lines. The ski lifts for demanding skiers are available in Spicak and Zelezna Ruda in CZ. On the German side of Sumava, there are about 15 km of ski slopes for the demanding skiers on the slopes of Großer Arber (altitude 1456 m). Zelezna Ruda belongs to the most significant tourist centres of Sumava. Ski-possibilities: Ski area Belveder and 5 ski lifts by the railway station – total length 2,3 km. Further, ski area Samoty – 2 ski lifts, total length 1,2 km. Spicak offers the best possibility of skiing on the Czech side of Sumava. Ski school, hire-service.
